Day 72

Today is Memorial Day.
It's a day to remember.

Moina Michael, who started the tradition of wearing red poppies on Memorial Day to honor those who died serving the nation during war, wrote this:

We cherish too, the Poppy red
That grows on fields where valor led,
It seems to signal to the skies
That blood of heroes never dies.

I do not relish war. But, the reality is that we live in a broken world with broken people with broken hearts... and therefore, we will always have war.

To you who serve and have served, thank you.
To you who did not come back, we love you and we miss you.
To you who govern and make hard hard decisions, we pray for you.

And we, we who stay behind, we will continue to dream of peace and amber waves of grain and healing. One day... one fine day, all will be right again. I pray and hope and remember for that day.

Saw this on another blog and thought she said it better than I could.

P.S. Hopefully youtube will cooperate tomorrow and I will post the video then.
