We had a very relaxing and FUN holiday weekend!! Friday we got some stuff done around the house and then went to the "most happening" spot in town for lots of fun, food, and friends. We had a great time in spite of the rain, which was kind enough to stop just in time for a great fireworks display at the Carroll County Ag Center.
The kids enjoyed glow sticks, patriotic tattoos, and lots of fun and new friends. They also enjoyed a few movies during the downpour but, hey, ya do what ya gotta do! Amy and I were quietly amused at the sweet but harried moms who were chasing toddlers, nursing babies, cutting meat, and performing other "mothers of small children" tasks. We assured them that those days would be over soon enough and they would be able to relax and enjoy a picnic with adults just like we were able to do yesterday!
We did have one small mishap--as I sat chatting with friends, I heard a faint bloodcurdling scream that sounded ominously familiar. But, of course, I continued chatting. As the screaming rounded the garage, I realized it was Sawyer with blood pouring out of his mouth. Apparently, he had been introduced to a badminton racquet in a most unfortunate way, and he had a good cut just above his front middle tooth and the promise of a fat lip in the near future. Thankfully, one of the people we had just met at the picnic was also a dentist and he was able to look at the injury and tell us that it would probably be okay but we should keep an eye on it. Today, it still wasn't looking that great so I'm not sure if that tooth is long for the world or not. Naturally, it's a permanent tooth. Never a dull moment.......
Today, we slept in then went to see Wall-E. I have to tell you, I don't know what all the fuss is about. I thought it was DUMB! I happen to prefer a movie with a bit of dialogue--silly me! But everyone else loved it!
Hope your weekend was relaxing and enjoyable too!

sounds like a really fun day! wish I could have been there! I've heard the same thing about Wall-E and I think we'll wait for it on DVD.
Glad to hear you had a fun day, and that the fireworks weren't ruined. Lots of people are always lots of fun. (Hope the grammar is okay)
I've wondered about that Wall-E movie. Samuel has been mocking the commercials for months, so I am already over it.
I hope your sweet boy recovers and his tooth stays put!
