Sweet Sydney

Somehow, I'm not at all sure how, Sydney managed to turn 14 and become a freshman in high school!  Although she started the school year (new school) with some trepidation, it didn't take her long to make lots of friends and have lots of fun.  She LOVES school and all her friends.  And we are very thankful.

Last week, Sydney had the honor of being one of three girls nominated for freshman class homecoming court.  Although she didn't win, we are very proud of her and her accomplishment.  I know it's a cliche we hear often but it TRULY is an honor just to be chosen!

Last weekend was the homecoming dance, and Sydney spent the afternoon with a group of her friends, going to the basketball game (we won!) and then getting ready for the evening's festivities.  They had so much fun together.  And, of course, Sydney looked beautiful (and oh so grown up)!  It was a very special night and one that I know she will always remember.  We love you Sydney, and we're so proud to be your mom and dad!
