Working people frequently ask retired people what they do to make their days interesting now that they've stopped working. Here's one example: the other day an elderly man went downtown to go to the news stand for the Wall Street Journal so he could track his investments. That only took about five minutes. When he came out, a cop was writing out a parking ticket. "Oh, come on, sir, don't you have anything better to do than write a retired person a ticket? Why aren't you out chasing crooks or child molesters...that's out of your league, obviously!!!"
The policeman ignored the elderly man and continued writing the ticket. The man called him a 'Nazi.' The policeman just glared at him and proceeded to write another ticket for having worn tires. So the man called him 'Barney Fife'. The cop finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he wrote a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more the retiree abused him, the more tickets he wrote. But the elderly man didn't care..... he had ridden the bus downtown . The car that the policeman was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said OBAMA 08.
You know we all should try to have a little fun each day once we've retired. It's important to our health.
