After a welcome respite from all things "organized-sports" related, we are back to late practices, quickly gobbled family dinners, and failed attempts at removing all manner of grass and dirt stains from uniforms. We are very proud of Payton, who made the middle school soccer team this year. He has never played soccer before (yes, we are probably the only parents on the face of the earth who haven't done the soccer thing) and so this was quite an accomplishment for him. He's doing a great job! (and he looks so grown up in this picture!)
Last Thursday was his first game, so Sawyer and I packed up the blankets, foldable camp chairs, sweatshirts, rain gear, umbrellas, etc. and headed out to cheer Payton on. Unfortunately, it was a gray, cold day with a light mist falling throughout the entire game. And the bad weather combined with a 5-0 loss for Liberty Christian made for a rough season debut. But after a warm ride in the van and a spicy chicken sandwich at McDonald's, all was right with the world again.
As I mentioned, the weather was terrible so this is how Sawyer chose to pass the time. He zipped himself up in his jacket and played games on my iPod touch. What a fan!

Ooh, tough start to the season, but good for Payton for making the team. We are doing soccor again this year, and I don't know which is worse, cold mist and rain or 105 degree heat. It is miserable! Why they don't plant trees near the soccor field is beyong me. No shade for miles. But, I'm smiling through it. And cheering Logan on. That's our mom job, isn't it? I'll be thinking of you during our next game!
good job, Payton! :) the picture of Sawyer is so funny!
hehe...Sawyer is very smart. Good job Payton!
