I'm a Guest Blogger!!

I'm so excited--and nervous--and honored--and surprised--and nervous!!  Last week, the fabulous Hannah Keeley contacted me about doing a guest post on her blog!  Since then, I've been e-mailing back and forth with the lovely Anna, who works with Hannah, and I think we've ironed out all the necessary details for my very first guest post appearance!  I'm so excited--and nervous!  Or did I already mention that??

Now, you regular readers will know things rarely happen to me without a large helping of irony and downright funniness attached to them.  And this, my friends, is no exception!  Have you ever heard of Hannah Keeley?  Well, I sure hadn't.  So I clicked over to her blog--and it became immediately apparent WHY I had never heard of Hannah Keeley!  Her blog--the very blog she has invited ME to write a guest post for --the one where she shares tips, recipes, and even advertises her TV SHOW---yes, as in TELEVISION. SHOW.--is all about-------are you sitting down??  HEALTHY. LIVING.

(Insert pause for your hysterical laughter.......)

Yep!  You heard me right:  healthy living.  After I almost peed my pants laughing, I promptly wrote her back and said Are you sure you have the right person?  Have you read my blog?  Do you know that healthy living is definitely NOT my.....ummm..............area of expertise?  And she sweetly replied You can write on anything that keeps you mentally, physically, or emotionally healthy.  You have four days to pick a topic and let me know what you want to write about!

So there you are!  It's official!  Hannah wants a guest post from ME (the epitome of un-healthy living that I am) and I have NO. IDEA. what to write about.  I've basically told them it will be about organizing--of course--but I haven't narrowed down the topic yet.  And this is where I could use your help.

As you can probably imagine , my house is pretty clutter-free and organized.  And, honestly, it's really never been cluttered or unorganized so I can't write a huge post about how I went through like a tornado one day, cleaned out 123 trash bags of junk, bought a label maker and thirty Rubber Maid containers, and life has never been the same!

So this is where you come in!  What do YOU want me to write about?  Would you like to know how I organize a certain area of our home?  Would you like to know how I stay clutter-free?  What about my anal retentive organizing skills can help you?  Please leave a comment and let me know!  I have a few ideas swirling about in my brain but I would much rather write about something that people would enjoy reading about and that might be a tiny bit helpful to someone.  So, let the commenting begin.  And please don't leave me hanging here--someone say something--comment anonymously.  I don't care!  Just comment!

My post is due next Wednesday, April 12, and I'm eagerly awaiting your input.  But, in the meantime, Hannah is hosting a FABULOUS contest for this blog series.  Right now, you can visit her blog or  American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning and register to win a $15,000 healthy living home makeover -- including a half-day home assessment with Hannah and a brand new home comfort system from American Standard Heating & Air Conditioning! The contest is open for entries so hurry on over to register!  After you leave me a comment, of course!  Good luck!

I know that this has absolutely nothing to do with being healthy but my absolute favorite post by you was the post on buying a bra!! That still makes me laugh!

Just be sure you mention that you should use caution in your quest to be clutter free, and NOT throw away the very thing you are going to need as soon as the trash man comes. Also be sure to mention that if something is put down in your house, even for a second, it's usually gone, and that only when you had your own house did this obsession begin. And, unfortunately, you did not pick this trait up from your mother, who lives a much more relaxed life.
Good luck on your post, I am sure it will be great.
Love, Mom

From one who is not at all organized but would love to be, I would be interested in how you organize your kitchen, specifically your pantry/cupboards. I have re-orgnized my pantry several times over the years and am still not happy with it. Also, do you keep certain staples on hand and are you as organized with your grocery shopping?

I'd love to hear about how you manage all the paperwork that enters your life, sports schedules, bills, coupons, insurance forms . . .oh the list seems endless.

maybe it is because I LOVE to purge when no one is home, I would rather hear about the why to and how it feels on the other side of tidyness, than the how. Just my two cents.

While I would love to know how you keep the pile or papers associated with schedules, school menus, homework, sports events, etc. organized, I'm much more interested in how you organize your time. How do you deal with all the things that life throws at you in a day while still honoring the priorities you've established in your heart?
