An ode to MACkenzie

Believe it or not, yesterday was my eighteenth Mother's Day.  Where has the time gone?  Anyway, I thought it appropriate to write a love letter to my newest baby.

Ahem.........here you go.

Dear MACkenzie,

Yesterday you came to live at our house and I couldn't be happier.  You weighed in at 5.5 pounds, and you are 15 inches long. On Saturday, quite unexpectedly, your predecessor expired without warning, and so I got to spend a few hours yesterday at the bright and shiny Apple store at Towson Town Center, carefully choosing you and bringing you home.

You are truly amazing.  You are so clean and bright.  Your "K" key doesn't jiggle, and no cookie crumbs or chocolate shavings reside under your keyboard.  One of my favorite features is the backlit keyboard that will allow me to work into the wee hours without having to "feel" my way as I type.  And my other favorite feature is your magnetic cord connection.  It's the little things, isn't it?

Your intel core i5 processor with turbo boost and hyper threading make my heart go pitter patter.  You take me to all my favorite blogs, my facebook page, and the library website at practically the speed of light.  And your dual processor is just the first indicator of your genius.  Now, when I have to run those pesky PC-based programs, all will go off without a hitch--and I won't need one of those silly computers whose name rhymes with "hell!  Oh, how I love you!

Your aluminum unibody is a beautiful sight to behold.  I haven't yet decided if I'll dress you in a skin or just enjoy you in all your silvery glory.  And your integrated HD graphics mean I will be able to watch corny youtube videos and Netflix instant movies to my heart's content--without waiting for the video content to catch up with the audio!  It will be glorious!

Now I hope you'll understand that even though we just brought you home, today I have to return you for a few days so you can get all updated and fancy again.  When I pick you up on Wednesday, all my familiar bookmarks and passwords and auto fills will be back where they belong!  I can hardly wait. Yes sirree MACkenzie!  Even though you are merely a 15-inch Macbook Pro, I'm pretty sure I'm in love.

Welcome home!  I promise to love you with all my heart forever--or at least until a month from now-- when you are obsolete and I am longing for an upgrade.

Your giddy new owner,

Jen

LOL, Jen! I'm thrilled that you are so happy! I work with Macs (the new flat screen ones that look so cool) at school, and I just can't wait to get home to my Gateway, LOL. But I'm really happy that you got exactly what you want (for a month or so, LOL)
