Weekend at the VeStrands

Not much exciting going on here but I know Brooke is looking for updates, so here goes!

Friday was Sawyer's 11th birthday.  He had a friend over, and they enjoyed a great time at the Breakaway event at church.  George (Sawyer's friend) said "You have the best church ever!" 

George gave Sawyer this for his birthday.  I cannot tell you the number of ping pong balls that have hit me and hit other people and things in our home this weekend.  The boys are LOVING it.

Saturday morning we had football concession stand duty for an hour.  Yikes!  That is quite a production!

Saturday evening Sawyer's football team won their game 13 to 6.  Yeah!

Sunday we were supposed to have a fire drill during both morning services but the rain canceled the first service drill.  Can't say that I was disappointed.  Getting 1000 men, women, children out of the building in an orderly fashion is no easy feat. 

We had friends over to watch the Eagles game on Sunday night.  I made this.  It was scrumptious!  And I just had some for lunch.  It's just as good the second time around!

We Skyped with Brooke for about an hour last night!  It was great!  She is doing well but missing home a bit too, I think!

In just three days, I get to go see Brooke and my sister!  I can't wait!

It's raining and cloudy here-YUM!  Fall might just finally be here!

Finally, I have been blessed to work from home for the past few years, but that is ending on October 15.  We would appreciate any and all prayers for another position for me.  (And if you or anyone else you know needs a great writer/editor or even admin help, let me know!) We are looking forward to seeing how God is going to work through this time.
