There are "snow" words....

I have never been shy about my love of snow.  I truly love it.  It's cozy and fun and makes for great memories.  But, I will admit, that even I have no words for this past week in our little suburb of Baltimore.  It has been unreal.  And, as I write, it is STILL snowing and blowing.  They have even stopped plowing because the visibility is too poor for the plows to be on the roads.

When the snow started last Friday, I made a list of things I wanted to accomplish.  They are done.  I have gone above and beyond the call of "blizzard duty".  And, I have a feeling we aren't going anywhere for a few more days.

These pictures this will give you a small glimpse into the BlizzardS of 2010 at the VeStrands!

We (and by "we", I mean the kids!) have managed to do a bit of this--
even though it's been very cold!   The neighbors down the street made an
amazing luge in their backyard, complete with jumps and turns,

and the boys have had a great time with them!

Our back yard

The snow pile at the end of our street.
I can't imagine what it will look like in another day or so!

Looking down our street.
We have been plowed quite a bit, compared to other neighborhoods.

Jeff dug out around the cars before good friends came with their
snow blower and three sons to dig us out after the first round!

We have played many rounds of this!

And the sewing machine has been whirring!
(Pictures of completed projects to come.)

Sawyer managed to get very sick and even have some sort of
delirium/night terror/seizure thing that gave us
quite a scare in the middle of a snowy night!

Brooke baked cookies and has even
made several yummy meals for us!

That's our trampoline.
We are hoping for its complete recovery.

Snow straight out our back door to the deck.
That's the deck railing straight ahead.

Snow on our deck railing.
I gave up on the yard stick.

Drifted snow out our breezeway door on to the deck.
It's unbelievable!

Throw in a majorly minor plumbing "incident", which does not bear mentioning, except to say that my bathroom has not been THAT clean in a very long time and a dog that DOES NOT enjoy the snow and it's been downright peachy around here!!  But we are thankful - we are warm and safe.  We haven't lost power, and we've made many great memories.  And I heard there's snow in the forecast for next Monday!  Sigh.......

I knew you'd be one of the few to really enjoy the blizzards! We got snow, too, but not as much as you. I am just happy to have gotten some. I've been "snow-deprived" for the past few years. There is nothing better than a good snowstorm and getting "stuck" at home. I laugh when I read about my friends complaining about having to stay home. I am strange - I love staying home. Great pictures too!
